Post COVID-19 strategy of “CASE” for automotive
Takeshi Miyao is an automobile market analyst in CARNORAMA-JAPAN. He was born in Tokyo. In 1988, he joined Alps Electric, where he had been in charge of “system design”, “development of products”, “marketing” and “business strategy”. In 2007, he started working for CSM worldwide (IHS Markit), where he conducted a research team on automobile industry of Asian countries as a general manager of Asia pacific region. In 2010, he established “CARNORAMA-JAPAN”, which is an automotive industry consulting firm. The company provides market research and analysis data, consultation specialized the supply chain of the global automobile industry.
He is a director of general incorporated associations “Japan and Asia Business Association” and “JIDOSHA 100-NEN JYUKU”.
Automotive industry is facing the next generation wave so-called CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electrified) technology in the global wide. The new trend will make a big change to automobile’s concept and it would force automotive manufacturer including component suppliers to reform.
In this course, I will explain the CASE briefly, then discuss “why the CASE is necessary”, “how to overcome the technical issues”, “which components are demanded” and “how to modify the strategy of the CASE in consideration of the COVID-19 situation”. Furthermore, I will discuss some questions such as “Autonomous vehicles are popular in 2030?” “Gasoline cars are eliminated completely in 2035?” and “What scenario would be main stream in 2050’s automotive industry?”
